Unfortunatly Mt Hutt is closed today due to the severe wind weather bomb hitting Canterbury. However from Saturday evening heavy snow is forecasted to hit Mt Hutt. if you are in the Methven area call into the Methven i-Site for alternative activities.


Access Road

Road is closed to all traffic due to high winds.

This is a great time to team up with a few of your mates and arrange a private lesson with one of our qualified ski or snowboard instructors. Private group lessons start from as low as $35pp (one-hour private with a group size of 4) people). With many rock hazards off trail, we strongly recommend the use of helmets at Mt Hutt and sell a great range in our Retail shop on the mountain.

All Lifts

Our intermediate/advanced lift. You need to be able to ski blue runs confidently before heading up on the Summit 6. On wind hold, last gust was 85khm we will resume operations once the gusts slow down

Our beginner/intermediate lift. You need to be able to link turns and control your speed before heading up on the Quad.

You need to be able to ski blue/black runs confidently before heading down to the Triple.

Operating as required to shuttle guests to/from the lower car parks.

Our covered conveyor lift for learners has something a little extra to offer this year to make it even more magical than ever before!

Terrain Parks & Pipe

We need to quite a bit more snow before we can open this.

This park extends down skiers right of Broadway and is open with four jump features and four easier box/pipe features.

Now set up with six rails - the latest addition being a brand new, 9m long, waterfall rail! Please ski and ride to your ability level.


Back by popular demand: Chips, Wedges, Hot Dogs, Pies, Pizza, Burgers and our oh, so tasty Mountain meals! The breakfast burrito is to die for - you'll be hooked after your first bite! Of course fresh sarnies, baguettes, salads and fruit are also available if your watching your cholesterol levels.

Situated adjacent to the Sky High Cafe, serving great coffee and alcholic beverages. Free Wi-fi available courtesty of Telecom.

The Summit 6 will open at 8am on Saturday and Sunday mornings for First Tracks Pass holders - $20 to top up your mypass to enjoy the fresh cord before anyone else.

Upcoming Events

Masters Racing is open for anyone who wants to give it a go from the age of 21 - 80+.  The competitors compete against other skiers in their 5 year age bracket.  i.e. 30 - 34, 35 - 39 etc.  Competitors range from the elite ex-racers in their lycra race suits to those that 'want to give it a go'.

Please Note: Helmets are compulsory for all events.

You will need to wear your pass to ride the lifts - at all times , the pass activates the gates that let you on the lift.

Course inspection - please respect the rules - side slip only. If you are spotted skiing or shadowing the course a time penalty will be added.
